Over the next 3 years, The Children in Need Foundation is supporting Fondazzjoni Sebh to address a number of aspects for the betterment of the lives of children living in homes through various therapeutic services.

This holistic approach is providing children the ability and skills to build up resilience and cope with the many challenges that come their way on a daily basis.

These capabilities help children bounce back from the stress, tragedy, trauma and adversity caused by their circumstances.

Children are braver, more curious, more adaptable and more able to extend their reach into the world - Hey SIGMUND

Therapy

The 40+ children residing in 7 homes, are having a weekly individual psychotherapy session  throughout the next 3 years.

Over this period, every child would have had 156 hours of therapy, totalling to 7,000 hours of therapy.

Exercise

Ensuring that each child at Fondazzjoni Sebh is given the opportunity to exercise and do this whilst integrating in society.

The aim is to provide each child  the opportunity to develop a skill and experience a sport or art of their choice.

Nutrition

Educate and support staff members about nutrition so that they may transfer this knowledge to the children.

This is an essential skill on how we need to take care of our bodies that has a lasting effect throughout ones' life.

HOW WILL WE DO THIS?

FUNDING REQUIRED.

The Children in Need employed three in-house psychotherapists and is also covering other one-off therapeutical sessions provided by other specialists, thereby ensuring a holistic and consistent approach for the children.

This is crucial for the benefit of the children who have experienced the trauma of abandonment.

The total investment required to support all the 40+ children and 90 staff members is estimated at around €150,000 yearly.

An expected effort ratio of 3:1 in favour of the children translates into an annual cost of:

€2,500 per child and €415 per staff member.
