Balloon Over Verdant Hills

As we reflect on 2025, we are filled with gratitude for another year of meaningful impact in the lives of Malta's most vulnerable children. This has been a year of deepening partnerships, expanding reach and strengthening the foundations of support that allow children to heal, grow and thrive.

From embedding therapeutic care in residential homes to creating safe spaces for

learning and play, from supporting displaced families in Ukraine to turning small change into lasting change, every initiative this year has been driven by a shared belief: that every child deserves safety, dignity and the chance to flourish.

This work is only possible because of you – our donors, volunteers, partners and champions. Together, we have delivered thousands of hours of therapy, equipped new learning centres, sent families on dream holidays, raised vital funds through inspiring challenges, and laid the groundwork for innovative new projects that will shape the future of our Foundation.

As you read through the highlights of our year, we hope you will feel the same sense of pride and purpose thatwe do in what we have achieved together.

Therapeutic Care

Fondazzjoni Sebħ Partnership - in numbers

Transforming Care Environments

Supporting Care Staff

Staff benefit from regular reflective support groups, one-to-one sessions and targeted workshops on trauma, attachment and de-escalation. This comprehensive approach helps them feel more confident and better equipped to respond to complex behaviour.

  • Fewer escalated crises

  • More stable placements

  • Stronger sense of safety

  • Enhanced connection in homes

What began as a new initiative in 2023 has grown into a comprehensive, trauma-informed system of support – a model that now stands as one of the benchmarks for residential care in Malta.

Beyond the Moon Collaboration

Creating Precious Memories

We continued our collaboration with Beyond the Moon in 2025, sponsoring a magical trip to Disneyland Paris in August for Chloe and her family.

This partnership allows us to create treasured moments of wonder and togetherness for children facing serious illness and their families during difficult times.

International Support

Lviv Charitable Foundation "Sincere Heart"

Ukraine Recovery Camp

With the support of the Children in Need Foundation, Lviv Charitable Foundation "Sincere Heart" delivered a one-day Recovery Camp in June 2025 for 89 internally displaced participants. Over a seven-hour program of games, movement, art therapy and professional group/individual psychological support, the camp stabilised emotionalstates, strengthened parent–child bonds and rebuilt social connections; 54 children (93% of those

present) were screened for PTSD (13 identified at high risk) and four families were referred for up to 10 free online therapy sessions.

Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive (99% would recommend the camp; 96% rated the psychologists "excellent"), and digital outreach for the activity reached an estimated 223,482 people—providing immediate relief, practical coping tools, and clear pathways to follow-up care for families affected by the war.

Fundraising Events

NIUM 24-Hour Padel Marathon 2025

The second edition of this fundraiser took place between 6th and 7th June at Padel Malta in Pembroke.

The second edition brought together approximately 100 padel enthusiasts for a continuous 24-hour match. Building on the inaugural event's success, which raised nearly €15,000, this year's marathon united players from complete beginners to seasoned professionals.

Heartfelt gratitude to NIUM for their continued sponsorship as headline sponsor for the second consecutive year, and to Padel Malta for providing courts and managing logistics.

Gasan Mamo Point to Point Challenge, 2025

€168,000 Raised

supporting Hospice Malta and Children in Need Foundation through extraordinary community generosity

On the 28th September 2025, Daniel Abela from Children in Need Foundation joined forces with Joe Casha and Douglas Barbaro Sant set out on the Point 2 Point challenge with a 15km run across Gozo, an 8km swim across the channel to Malta followed by a cycle across Malta, ending at the Hospice Malta premises in Hamrun.

The demanding Point to Point Challenge tested the endurance and determination of all 3 friends, who were accompanied by various friends along the challenge. This remarkable achievement represents not only an inspiring personal accomplishment but also a powerful demonstration of community solidarity and the impact that can be achieved when individuals step forward to champion causes that matter.
